Chatterer seems to be a bit accident prone this week. It started on Monday, when he and a friend were playing at school and he somehow slipped on the concrete. The result: a nice big red swelling spot over his eye that will probably turn into a black eye in the next day or so.
Yesterday, I picked him up from school and we headed over to gymnastics class, which is probably his favorite thing in the world right now. As he was getting out of the car, he missed the step or something and fell out of the car onto the asphalt. Not the tripped-a-little-and-had-to-put-his-hands-down fall, no the kind of tumble you see at the circus when the clown car arrives.
Then, to top it off, during free time at gymnastics, one of his friends landed on his shoulder in the foam pit. One can only wonder what will happen next.

The latest in the ever-burgeoning vocabulary of our 15-month old. Last night at bath time ToaM was sorting the ducks (there are many in the bathtub) and when he put them on the side of the tub, he would say “quack quack!” with a big toothy grin.
The day before yesterday introduced “cracker,” when Chatterer gave ToaM one of Chatterer’s crackers and he promptly said “cracker!” We taught Chatterer to talk and, well, just remember his moniker. We can only hope ToaM will be the same.

They sent the paperwork home a while back for Chatterer’s school’s jog-a-thon to raise money for school improvements. So, because Chatterer is not old enough to really go out and collect sponsors for himself, I’m posting here to solicit for him. If he raises $100, he gets a “free” t-shirt. The event is on November 4, but the sponsorship stuff is due October 20. Anyone wanting to pledge, just e-mail me. I’ll send the tax deductible info. back. It’s a “flat” sponsorship, not an amount per lap. All amounts over $1 are welcome. If you’re a ways out of town, I’ll float the $$ for you until you can mail it.
When Chatterer is old enough to actually understand what’s going on, we will make him go out and actually collect the money himself. Probably in a couple of years or so.

No wonder he’s been on the cranky side… there are three teeth coming in!

Ok, so it’s been a while since I wrote anything here. Things have been busy. The good news: I’ve all but finished both of the boys’ costumes. I still need to stuff the Pooh tummy and add the eyebrows to Tiggers hood, but other than that, they’re done!
Last Friday was Chatterer’s school’s trip to the Pumpkin Patch. He went last year and had a blast, and this year was no different. The pigs raced, the chickens sang (you just need to be there), the train went around, the pumpkins were chosen and hauled back to the hay wagon and Chatterer actually went into the petting zoo and made a point of petting all of the “baby” (i.e. smaller) goats. He even fed them! This is a big step forward from last year when he wouldn’t even step near the fences. The entire school was there in their matching shirts, which was incredibly cute.
Sunday was another exciting day. We have two new kittens in the house. After mourning the loss of our dear Spike, it was time for Howlie Kitty to get a friend. We decided to actually get two because a) Howlie Kitty is 14 and, well, 14 is old for kitties and b) as much as Howlie Kitty needed a friend, even we didn’t think he would put up with one kitten for very long. So, two new kittens joined the family Sunday afternoon. Chatterer named “his” kitten and ToaM’s kitten. One is a boy and one is a girl. We still don’t have a great picture that shows the two of them together (we have several of them playing) so I’ve added this one.
